This is gonna be my last post about Lombok and surrounds for a while as I mentioned here y’all. Before I head back t’ the many thangs West Papua province has t’ offer, I’m gonna share a bit about the three ‘Gili’s: Gili Air, Gili Meno, ‘n Gili Trawangan. These three areas be so different from each other, even though they all have the same ‘start’.
Gili Air
There be amazin’ food to eat on this island. Y’all know I be one to eat where the locals eat, but if that ain’t a choice, I wanna eat local food. My research be showin’ that two restaurants called Warung Alam Damai ‘n Warung Sunny serve delicious traditional food.
If ya be a buddin’ chef, instead of eatin at Warumg Alam Damai, why don’t ya join a cookin’ class for only the cost of the meal ‘n sambal ya gonna make ‘n’ a tip. Well, yeah! Sign me up!
Work off all the calories by rentin’ a bike ‘n cycle around. Sightseein’ on a bike be so cool, ’cause the scenery ain’t whooshin’ by like it does in one of them fancy air-conditioned tour buses. There be quite a bit t’ see while pedalin’ such as beach clubs ‘n’ coconut farms. If ya lucky, the place you’re stayin’ may have free bikes to use; if not ya can rent one for less than five dollars US for the whole day y’all.
Gili Meno
This island sometimes be referred to as the Honeymoon Island, but it don’t mean it is exclusively for couples. We all have different goals we wanna achieve during our vacation, right?
Gili Trawangan
One of the the most popular thangs t’ do on Gili Trawangan is party. There be a lotta clubs ’round with all kinda music, like reggae ‘n EDM, don’t matter what ya groove be.
Soak up the sunsets. Go on a cruise, or join the line at the famous Gili T swings. No visit t’ Gili T ain’t complete without a photo on one of ’em for ya ‘Gram. Swings be dotted all over the island.
If ya gonna be spendin’ time on boats, it makes sense to hop onto one to go snorkelin’. I’ve swum with dolphins before, and the whale sharks of Cenderawasih Bay be on my bucket list too, but Gili T has amazin’ turtles, parrotfish ‘n’ sixbar wrasse.
The Gili’s definitely be on my bucket list. I can’t wait to visit!
