Getting to Know Closer to the Highest Mountain Peak in Indonesia, Mount Jayawijaya

In fact, Indonesia is known to be most crossed by earth slabs which result in many mountains and mountains being created from active and inactive. Of the few mountains in Indonesia, of course there is an highest mountain that we often know about Mount Jayawijaya.

This mountain is located in the Province of Central Papua which offers stunning views of the mountains and mountains. There are many mountains in Papua that have challenging paths and beautiful landscapes, making climbers want to climb them.

From the highest peaks to beautiful hills, every mountain in Papua has its own charm. One of the most famous is the Jayawijaya Mountains with its highest peak, Carstenz Pyramid.

In Carstenz Pyramid, we can see firsthand the rare natural events that occur in Indonesia, namely snow. Indonesia, located on the kathulistiwa line, has an all-time tropical climate that makes it impossible for snow to fall on its territory.

At the top of this highest mountain in Indonesia, snow is slapped so wide. Its height of 4,884 masl makes eternal snow cover this mountain peak in Papua.

When viewed from the air, Jayawijaya Peak is like a rug covered in a white hood. If the sun is bright, then the expanse of snow will reflect dazzling sunlight but remain awesome.

Jayawijaya Peak or better known as the Carstenz Pyramid is listed as one of the seven phenomenal (seven summit) continents and is the target of mountain climbers in various parts of the world. Carstenz is taken from the name of the inventor of this mountain range, Jan Carstenz, who saw a snowy mountain peak in the tropics through a ship in 1623.

In addition, not all of the peaks of Mount Jayawijaya are covered by eternal snow due to the shrinking of the ice sheet due to extreme climate change.

Here is a list of some of the top names of Mount Jayawijaya:

1. Carstensz Pyramid or Carstensz Peak (4,884 mdpl)

2. Jaya Peak (4,862 mdpl)

 3. Mandala Peak (4,760 mdpl)

 4. Peak Trikora (4,730 mdpl)

5. Idenberg Peak (4,673 mdpl)

6. Yamin Peak (4,535 mdpl)

 7. East Carstensz Peak (4,400 mdpl)

For climbing costs, Carstenz Peak or Jayawijaya Peak has very expensive costs. As one of the Seven Summits and World Summits, the conqueror of Jayawijaya Peak was one of the climbers from both local and international climbers.

reported from Kompas.com, climbing costs in 2016 to Carstensz Peak on Mount Jayawijaya cost around 55 million rupiah per person. These costs include transportation going home (PP) Jakarta – Nabire, Nabire-Sugapa aircraft, porter and guide fees for two weeks of climbing, group climbing equipment, food, and drinks.

This very expensive cost should certainly be understood by true climbers because it is not easy to conquer a mountain peak that includes one of the Seven Summits with a fitting preparation, of course, preparation must be ripe so that the safety of the climber himself is more important.
