Best Attractions in the West Papua Tourism to visit after the Pandemic:

While the province has had hidden paradises for so long, not so many people knew about them before. The province itself is located in the easternmost part of Indonesia as it is directly adjacent to Papua New Guinea.

To get there, you may need more effort. But of course, there will be nothing to disappoint after seeing the beauty of the West Papua land. Well, some tourist attractions can be enjoyed after the pandemic is over. What are they?

1. Rumberpon Island

Rumberpon Island has many beaches and the most popular one is namely Paris Panjang Beach. A little bit different from other beaches in the area of West Papua tourism, the beach doesn’t have any corals at all. Pasir Panjang means long sand anyway.  And just like the name, the beach is indeed very long, it is around 6000 meters.

The beach and its environment are still very clean and the breeze is refreshing. Yes, there is strict regulation in which the visitors must keep the area clean or some punishments are awaited. Similar to Raja Ampat, you can do many activities here such snorkeling, water-skiing, swimming and even fishing. Meanwhile, in the middle of the island, some endemic animals live freely including kuskus and deers.

2. The Love Lake

The next tourist attraction in West Papua is known as Love Lake. Well, originally, the lake is namely Lake Imfote. But visitors prefer calling it Danau Cinta or the Love Lake as the shape of the lake resembles the heart sign. Particularly, it is when you see the lake from the hill around it.

The Love Lake is indeed located in a remote area. But it doesn’t stop tourists to visit this attraction and enjoy the beauty of this West papua tourism.

3. Kaimana Island

Kaimana Island in West Papua is a Marine Protected Area linked with Raja Ampat and is also part of the Birds Head Seascape.

It is known for some of the best diving in the world as it sits in the famous Coral Triangle, an area with more species of fish and coral than any other place on earth.

Kaimana is often called the Kingdom of Fishes and is also a favorite with those who like macro photography. As the name suggests, you will find an abundance of coral gardens here as well as species like graceful dolphins, marlin, seahorses and sharks.

4. Spend a few days in Jayapura

Jayapura is the capital city of Papua and is also its largest city. That said, it has a population of 200,000 people which means that it is not exactly huge, but there is plenty to see here to keep you busy for a few days.

The city is encircled by hills and you will be close to beaches here such as Base G Beach and there are a number of temples to see in town, which are visited by the local Buddhist population.

Also make sure not to miss the local market in Hamadi for a truly  Papuan experience.
